‘Els darrers dies de la Catalunya republicana’ by Antoni Rovira i Virgili. Scene direction Marc Hervàs with Jordi Hervás Solà Terra
Teatre Company
This work is the true narration of some dramatic days lived by the writer, historian and politician Antoni Rovira i Virgili when he enters its highest phase the final offensive of Franco against Catalonia.
Rovira i Virgili narrates personally the non-return travel he made with his family and different political and cultural personalities to France. In this journey, he will share with the rest of Catalonian people all the pain ─ home losing, hunger, cold and uncertainty. The spectacle is a dialogue between Antoni Rovira i Virgili and a cellist that expresses himself with his instrument. Many themes connected the 30s with the current days ─ relations between Catalonia and Spain, exoduses in Europe and the fear of losing one own identity.
