Motivation for one's own learning or for the activities leading to it is one of the key factors that leads to success in studies. Along with the objective to be achieved, aspects such as the interest to attend to the explanations of the teachers, to participate actively in the dynamics of the classes, to carry out the proposed activities, to share goals with other students or to develop the autonomous study are elements essential in the teaching-learning process.

Rosendo Pou is a Physical Chemistry Professor of the UV since 2002 and also Director of the Quality Unit of the UV since February 2012. He studied Chemical Sciences in this university, where he obtained the Extraordinary Prize of Degree, and where he doctoró in year 1995. He is member of the Theoretical Chemistry Research Unit of Molecular Science of the UV, where he has worked principally in the chemistry-quantic characterisation of electroactive molecular systems.

He has actively participated in the processes of educational innovation and improvement of teaching quality linked to the construction of the European Higher Education Area. In this context, he was part of the teaching team that won the Second Prize for Teaching Innovation 2008 awarded by the UEM and the Prize for Quality and Teaching Innovation 2008 of the Social Council of the UV. He also received the Prize to the Quality and Teaching Innovation 2010 of the Social Council of the UV.
