Dale W. Jorgenson (Montana, USA, 1933) is the Samuel W. Morris Professor of Economics en Harvard University.

PhDin Economics by Harvard University, he has also taught in the Unviersity of California, Berkeley and has been chairman at the American Economic Association of the National Research Council, the Econometric Society and the section of Economic Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences.

His research is focused around different fields of theoretical and applied economy, dealing subjects such as growth accounting, architecture of the national accounts, the influence of the imposition in the investment behaviour, information technologies and public policies assessment, contributing to improve the theoretical, statistical and econometric tools in the economic analysis.

Director of more than 70 doctoral theses and author of more than 300 scientific articles and 36 books, his work has received many academic recognitions, like the ‘honoris causa’ doctorate by the universities of Uppsala, Oslo, Keio, Mannherim, Rome, Stockholm, Hong Kong and Kansai, as well as the John Bates Medal by the American Economic Association.
