This publication aims to clarify and advise cooperatives that want to reduce their energy consumption through the creation of this model of energy communities.
After months of work, the Chair for Agri-Food Cooperatives has launched a new publication entitled “Energy Communities in Agri-Food Cooperatives”.
The authors of the work are Cristina R. Grau i López, María Pilar Bonet Sánchez, Teresa Puchol and María Pilar Alguacil Marí (director of the Chair), with the collaboration of the companies SOM ENERGIA and Sapiens.
The guide analyses some of the collective models of energy generation, including those for self-consumption –which are called “energy communities”– but circumscribes them to the business model of an agri-food cooperative. It clarifies the legal concept of an energy community, the implementing rules, its legal regime, and also offers practical advice on how to set up these energy communities from the agri-food cooperative movement.
