The Joint Committee of the AIMPLAS–Universitat de València Corporate Chair agreed on the work actions for 2024.
In 2024, the Universitat de València and the AIMPLAS Technological Institute of Plastics established a University-Corporate Chair to strengthen the link between academia and the plastics industry with the aim of comprehensively addressing current and future challenges of sustainability and innovation of plastic materials.
The primary goal of the AIMPLAS–UV Chair is to promote education, research, development and knowledge transfer in the plastics industry, with a special focus on sustainability and innovation, as well as the development of talent and the raising of social responsibility and awareness.
On 26 February 2024, the Joint Committee meeting established the strategic lines of action for 2024, including:
- Awards for the best undergraduate and Master’s degree final projects (TFG and TFM) on sustainability and circular economy in the plastics industry
- Training grants to attend events and conferences
- Promotion of curricular and extracurricular traineeships
- Grants for research initiation
- Conferences and events
- Training courses and technical lectures.
We are mainly oriented towards students who are passionate about making a contribution towards the improvement of the plastic industry, covering technological, environmental, socioeconomic and training perspectives. We aspire to create a space where young talent faces the needs of the industry, promoting innovative and sustainable solutions. We also invite researchers to contribute to the transfer of knowledge by sharing the sector’s achievements and the projects currently being carried out. We believe in the importance of connecting academia with the business sector in order to drive measurable advancements. We hope to build bridges with society to promote responsible practices in all of the stages of the cycle of plastics.
The AIMPLAS–UV Chair is a collaborative space for research, training and joint action. Its goal is to promote the sustainable development of the plastics industry in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
