The Valencian Community Academy of Optometry has been established by Decree 53/2026, of April 10, issued by the Valencian Government.

GAP members welcome with illusion the news of the creation of the Academy of Optometry, a non-profit public corporation whose objectives are the study and dissemination of optometric knowledge, the promotion of research, the preparation of reports and studies, advising public and private institutions, scientific outreach, and the continuing education of optometrists.

This institution recognizes the work of optometrists as professionals, researchers, educators, and communicators, and can play a fundamental role as a driving force for research in optometry.
