The faculty of the Department of Optics and Optometry and Vision Sciences participates in the European Researchers' Night
ProfessorsMª Carmen García Domene and Mª Amparo Díez Ajenjo,, along with Juan Carlos Linero, Alacant delegate of the College of Opticians and Optometrists of the Valencian Community, participated in the European Researchers' Night at the Burjassot Campus of the University of Valencia last Friday, September 29th.
Three different workshops were presented:
- The use of polarized filters, and how improper mounting of them in glasses can alter color perception. An experiment was also conducted to see how sunglasses and even specific white lenses can block ultraviolet radiation.
- Attendees could check their color vision through a simple diagnostic test and, with the help of a simulator, see how a patient with chromatic deficiencies would see and perform the test.
- Reticulated glasses, to show in which cases their use may be recommended.
All workshops had a large turnout, including adults, children, and students from various degrees at the Burjassot Campus.
