The project ‘Promoting integral development for the indigenous women in Petén (Guatemala)’, led by Cristina Vidal Lorenzo and M. Luisa Vázquez de Ágredos, will be founded by the 7th Call for Development Cooperation projects of the Universitat de València. This project, whose local partner is the Balam Association-NGO, will be developed in the Maya communities of Mopán and Itzá from the Petén department in Guatemala. Its main goal is to contribute to the social, economical and cultural development of women in these ethnic groups through the rescue of their cultural traditions and to fight against poverty.
