The Critical Theory Research Group at the Universitat de València is organizing a new Reading Seminar, which on this occasion will be dedicated to exploring the work of philosopher Axel Honneth, De la impotència a la revolta. Maneres d'autoempoderar-nos (Arcàdia).
Through this space for reflection, teaching and research staff, as well as postgraduate students and interested individuals, will be able to debate the dynamics of social self-empowerment in the face of political impotence. The sessions will address different dimensions covered in the book, exploring key concepts such as shame, fantasies of omnipotence, the politics of laughter, and respect, seeking to offer new critical readings on the paths to contemporary emancipation.
