Jordi Sanjuán, member of Econcult, wins the Award for the Best Research in Young Valencian Economy at the VIII Whorkshop of Valencian Economy

On September 29, the VIII Valencian Economy Workshop took place in the city of Valencia, in which the member of the Culture Research Unit, Jordi Sanjuán, won the Prize for the Best Research in Economics Young Valencian

Last Friday, September 29, the city of Valencia was the scene of the VIII Valencian Economy Workshop, organized by the Nexe Foundation, an event that under the title "Climate emergency and decarbonization in the Valencian Country: society, company and territory " brought together outstanding experts and researchers in the field of the economy of the Valencian territory. In this edition, several round tables were held in which topics such as the climate emergency or the issue of housing were discussed. The purpose of this day was to address an analysis around the decarbonisation of the economy and society, the analysis on the efficient management of the climate emergency and the debate on the specific actions to be developed and their management.

One of the highlights was the presentation of the Award for the Best Research in Young Valencian Economy, which recognized the excellent work done by the member of the Economics and Tourism Research Unit (Econcult), Jordi Sanjuán.

Jordi Sanjuán deserved this prestigious award for his work entitled "Cultural and creative industries and well-being in the Valencian Country". This research which is rooted in the application of various quantitative techniques, an analysis has been carried out for 209 European regions using machine learning techniques with causal inference, the study reveals that Cultural and Creative Industries have a significant positive impact in various dimensions of well-being in the Valencian Country, surpassing the state and European averages, mainly in the field of education, income and work, suggesting the potential of these as an engine of regional development.
