The study of the Chair of Digital Gender Gap of the University of Valencia of 2024 ("Analysis of the digital gender gap in the business sector of the Valencian Community") analyzes the status of the digitization and the digital gender gap in the business sector of the Valencian Community, highlighting the relevance of the gender perspective in a sector undergoing technological transformation

This is an explotatory study with surveys to 59 companies, ranging from microenterprise (54.24%) to large companies (6.78%). The study evaluated digitalization indicators and the distribution by gender in different areas of responsibility.

The Valencian Community is a representative example of the digital revolution transforming economic, social and labor areas, with a business sector where 83% of companies are considered technological, but only 5% of the jobs in these sector are occupied by women. The results also show a concentration of women in adiministrative and service position, while leadership, management and technological development roles are dominated by men. In 42% of companies, women occupy less than 24% of management positions, and in only 17% do they achieve parity in research and development

Els resultats reflectixen que, malgrat uns certs avanços, persistix una desigualtat significativa, especialment en càrrecs de direcció i en sectors tecnològics tradicionalment masculinizados.

The study has generated a significant social impact in raising awareness among participating companies about the need to incorporate the gender perspective in their digitalization strategies. The recommendations derived from the analysis have been shared with key actors, such as equality institutions and business associations, promoting a dialogue for the implementation of inclusive measures.
