The World Philosophy Day is an event held each third Thursday of November since 2006, and which was proclaimed by the UNESCO on 2005.
To commemorate this day, under the theme “La filosofía es…” (‘Philosophy is…’), a public reading of philosophical texts was held on Thursday, 20 November at the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences.
The activity counted on the participation of people that selected and shared brief philosophical texts, intended to invite reflection on the value of philosophy or specific issues of this field. The interventions, of between 2 and 3 minutes, enabled to give voice to a wide variety of perspectives and sensitivities.
The ceremony took place in the hall of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences (Av. Blasco Ibáñez, 30, Valencia) at 7 p.m., and gathered students, professors, and people interested in celebrating and claiming philosophical thinking.
