4th Conference of Working Culture in Investigation (J-CLI)

The fourth edition of the J-CLI analyses from a scientific and researcher view the Dana that took place on 29 October 2024.

 

The 4th edition of the J-CLI will take place in Florida Universitaria (Catarroja), on 5 November. It will consist of a panel discussion to analyse, explain and discuss, from different research contexts, the floods, the emergency and the reconstruction 

Different experts will participate in the panel discussion, such as:

-María Diago Giraldós is the dean of Valencian Collage of Biologists. The College of Biologists published months ago a detailed guide for reconstruction. This guide aims to reduce the risks in case it happens again that the huge amount of water cannot be canalised. 

-Maria Dolores Pitarch, Javier Serrano and Ivan Portugués are professors and researchers from the UV. They are currently working on a research project which is essentials these days: “Riesgo de inundación y cambio climático. Desarrollo de la resiliencia social mediante proyectos de educación y participación ciudadana" (“Risk of flooding and climate change. Development of social resilience through education projects and civic participation”).

-Johana Ciro is a professor and researcher at Florida Universitaria who works in social and local economy. This is crucial right now, as the areas affected by floods are impoverished. 

-Graciela Gil, paleoclimatologist and researcher at CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) of the Pyrenean Institute of Ecology (Zaragoza). She studies how we can learn from climate changes from the past. 

The event will take place on 5 November from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
