The exhibition "Comics of the past, cities of the future" shows how the comic, as a fundamental part of popular culture, has shown from its pages the ambitions of humanity towards its own future. An urban art such as the comic strip has necessarily seen in the comic a way of glimpsing its future, but it has also mimicked architecture, given that its own narrative structure requires a composition, with a construction that is directly linked to architectural science. The exhibition makes a historical journey through examples of representation of the imagined future from both fantasy and scientific speculation.

The traveling exhibition "Comics of the past, cities of the future" is presented at the Social Center of Riba-roja de Túria, headquarters of the University of Valencia, from January 29 to February 29. Then it will move to the Municipal Auditorium.
