International conference: family, digital society and positive development

The International Research Conference on Family, Digital Society and Positive Development is celebrated on November 30 and December 14 and 15 in the grades room of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Valencia. Professors from Spanish and foreign universities participate. There is a series of conferences in each of the three sessions and there are also two round tables, one on November 30 and the other on December 14.

For decades, research on parental socialization has been analyzing the different socializing actions of parents and their relationship with the adjustment and development of their children. The so-called two-dimensional theoretical model allows the study of parental socializing actions based on two theoretically orthogonal dimensions (affection and severity) and four parental styles (indulgent, authoritative, authoritarian and neglectful). The family will play an important role in the development of the conference, as well as the digital society and positive development. Topics such as the relationship between different types of families and positive development in children will be addressed using different adjustment criteria such as ecological social values, academic performance, the child's health and also other criteria related to the advances of the digital society in which we find ourselves such as the use and abuse of new technologies and digital leisure. In addition, education will be approached not only from the family's point of view, but also from the teacher's point of view with topics more related to cognitive development (e.g. reading comprehension) and emotional development (e.g. school violence or forgiveness).
