Next Wednesday, 14 June, at 19:30h, the book ‘El lugar de las mujeres en la historia’ will be presented on Sociedad Vitivinícola in Sagunto. Moving the limits of the world’s representation, edited by Publicacions of the Universitat de València with the collaboration of the Council of Education, Culture and Sport. A work conducted by Isabel Morant, Rosa Ríos and Rafael Valls and that had the collaboration of teachers of all education levels.

In the presentation ceremony of the work will participate Antonio Bru, president of the Sociedad Vitivinícola of Sagunto, and Isabel Morant, full university professor of the Universitat de València and co-director of the book.

In the 70s of the 20th century the studies on the history of women became incredibly relevant, a way of interpreting the past in which they were no longer considered passive objects, but active and aware subjects. Therefore, it was essential to rewrite their history, create a story in which conversations and interactions were in contact with the general history so as to add them in a more complete and real way. It is then, a history of women, but it also understands and affects men, and how relations of gender have been built in the different moments of history, not only in social and political spaces, but also private. The book covers, from an universal and global perspective, the cultural and historic nature of differences and inequalities, and analyses the influence of social and political changes on women, but also her influence on them: where they able to participate actively in history?, where their lives significantly affected by the several events?, where any progress for women?

The work is completed with a highly practical dossier -with texts, photos and didactic proposals-, it aims to meet the student’s needs and aspires to find a wider public between those who understand that women’s history is a new knowledge for thinking in ourselves, so as to understand and build our desirable life and world.
