The book 'Els parlars valencians (4ª ed. actualitzada)' will be presented on Friday 14th October at 8pm at the headquarters of the Cultural Association 9 d'Octubre in Vilamarxant. Maria Josep Cebrián, secondary school teacher, and the authors Vicent Beltran Calvo and Carles Segura-Llopes will speak at the event.

"Els parlars valencians” (Valencian speeches) describes, based on meritorious fieldwork, the linguistic richness of Catalan in the Valencian Country. The book is organised in four parts: the first part gives an overview of the characteristics of the speeches described, while the second part classifies and describes each of the varieties studied. The third is arranged according to the traditional structure of dialect monographs, which includes phonetics, morphosyntax and lexicon. The book closes with the Linguistic Atlas of Valencian Speech, with 56 full-colour maps where the linguistic variations are geographically represented. The works that have given rise to this book have been awarded the 2017 Joan Coromines IEC Prize for Lexicography and Onomastics.
