The deadline to participate in the twenty-first edition of the UV Creative Writing Awards is 25 April. It is a competition aimed at students from Valencian public universities with six categories: poetry in Valencian, poetry in Spanish, prose fiction in Valencian, prose fiction in Spanish, theatre and short film scripts.

Each category’s winner is awarded a prize of €1,000 and their publication. In the case of scripts, if the short film is produced before December 2025, you can get an extra production grant of €2,000.

The UV Awards are open to students from Valencian public universities who are enrolled in the current academic year and under 36 years of age on 31 December 2024. Besides, the theatre category is also open to students from the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de València (Higher Education School of Dramatic Arts of Valencia), provided that they meet the age requirement. 

The UV Creative Writing Awards are an initiative of the Student Council Branch and are organised by the SeDi Information and Promotion Service with the collaboration of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication and the Clubs of Literature, Poetry, Performing Arts and Cinema of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society.
