The Erasmus+ FORTHEM BIP “Clear Vision, Clear Communication: Presentation Skills for Health Sciences” comes to an end today

The programme has focused on how to improve communication and presentation skills and disseminate scientific results in the field of Health Sciences

This free intensive hybrid course, conducted in English and open to undergraduate (except first-year), Master and Ph students in Health Sciences-related degrees from any Forthem Alliance university,  has focused on how to improve communication and presentation skills and disseminate scientific results in the field of Health Sciences both to the scientific community and to the general públic

Throughout the course, participants have learned about the importance of communicating research results in their areas and how body language and non-verbal communication may help or hinder their efforts.

In addition, different communication tools (such as oral communication, posters, comics, etc...) have been reviewed and implemented in conferences and workshops.

Likewise, the issue of how to best convey diagnoses and possible treatments in the area of health sciences, both to patients and their relatives has been addressed in a specific workshop.

The course has been held in València from 1 to 5 September 2025. The virtual component took place before the celebration of the BIP and consisted of two on-line sesions on 26 to 27 June. These sessions took place mainly in the morning so as to leave the afternoons for participants to develop teamwork and enjoy the social programme.

The programme has primarily taken place at La Nau Cultural Centre, the historic headquarters of the Universitat de València located in the city centre, and also at the Faculty of Physics on the Burjassot Campus.

This course is an Erasmus+ FORTHEM Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) as a result of a collaborative effort between the Department of Optics, Optometry and Vision Science of the University of València (Spain); the Department of Optics and Optometry of the University of Palermo (Italy), the University of Latvia’s Department of Optometry and Vision Science, and the Department of Nutrition and Public Health at the University of Agder (Norway).
