The 1st Doctoral Conference, ‘Gender Perspectives and Research Methodologies in Contemporary Audiovisual Culture’, was held on Wednesday 15 July in the FFTiC Meeting Room at the University of Valencia, establishing itself as a forum for academic exchange amongst doctoral students from various national and international institutions.
The session was opened by Giulia Colaizzi, director of the Interculturality and Communication (Intercom) research group, and by Silvia Guillamón Carrasco, principal investigator of the TECNOGEN R&D&I project, who highlighted the importance of strengthening research networks centred on feminist, intersectional and decolonial approaches applied to the study of cinema and audiovisual culture.
Throughout the afternoon, the presentation sessions provided an opportunity to present research progress on representation, critical methodologies and cultural analysis, in a hybrid format that facilitated the participation of speakers from universities such as the Complutense University of Madrid, the Université de Grenoble Alpes and the University of Alabama, amongst others.
