The University of Valencia has among its varied and rich historic-artistic heritage an important collection of Republican posters of the Spanish Civil War that make up one of the larger and best preserved collections, proof of this war art that was so relevant and important during the fight, key witness and historical document of those war years. It is the third most important collection in Spain but its value lies not only in the number, 260 posters, but also in their quality, as many of them do not have copies. The most part come from recoveries of war or subsequent seizures or from deposits created in the time in which Valencia was the Republican capital.
