Based on the premise that gender-based violence is a very serious problem that all people must fight against, the goal of this lecture is to explain to individuales lacking specialised legal knowldege the procedure regarding gender-based violence, in daily court practice, from the initial complaint to the execution of a possible conviction. That is to say, to explain in simple language and without technicalities what a woman faces when she files a complaint of abuse. The different types of gender-based violence--physical, psychological, economic or workplace harrassment--will be discussed. We will also talk about the rights of the victims and their rights to safety measures and what to do when this type of violence occurs, etc. This event is organised by AlumniUV and the presenter, Gabriel Izquierdo, is a member of the collective.
