Among the most significant data extracted from it, 88.5% of the graduates in official Master’s degrees at the UV who completed their studies have found a job. The employability rate has risen 4 points compared to past labour insertion studies.

The fourth Study of Labour Market Insertion of Graduates in Official Master’s Degrees at the Universitat de València, recently presented by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment, is confirmed as the best in terms of representativeness with respect to the previous studies carried out.

With 5,262 people surveyed during the 2022-2023 academic year, representing 54.7% of the total number of graduates who made up the population studied, these participation figures manage to double the data compared to the previous study, where only 26.3% of the population was interviewed. The respondents, from a total of 102 degree programmes, were surveyed during the academic year 2022-2023, i.e. one, two or three years after completing their Master’s degree studies.

About 95% of the respondents had work experience after completing their Master's degree, and 86.5% had a job in line with their level of studies. In addition, the percentage of graduates in technical positions or with staff is 81.6%, an increase of almost 5 points compared to the previous survey. In this section, the percentage achieved by the Health Sciences Area is particularly noteworthy, reaching 90.1%.

The average net monthly salary of graduates is 1,665.6 euros, an increase of approximately 9% with respect to the previous study. In this sense, there is still a salary gap between men and women of more than 100 euros, which is especially accentuated in the branches of Architecture and Engineering, exceeding 300 euros.

By branches of knowledge, Architecture and Engineering obtain the best results in practically all the indicators, including the best employment rate (91.6%), the best percentage of people employed 6 months after finishing their studies (90.4%), that of graduates who have a job requiring university studies (92.2%), with a stable contract (67.7%), full-time (95%), and the highest net monthly salary, which reaches 1,840.2 euros.

Similarly, Arts and Humanities stands out for having the highest percentage of graduates who are self-employed (16.6%), and Sciences for employment related to the area's degree and for its full-time nature (90.6%). Lastly, Social and Legal Sciences stand out for the high percentage of graduates with a stable contract, up to 57.7%, and for the net monthly salary, at 1,703.4 euros.

As a novelty, this fourth study presents data by faculty or centre, which points to the Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Advanced Optometry and Vision Sciences, Medical Physics, Banking and Quantitative Finance, Current and Financial Sciences, Data Sciences or Electronic Engineering as the best positioned.

Also for the first time, the study includes the overall results of integration among people with disabilities. In this sense, the survey respondents have a net monthly salary of 2,202 euros, with an activity rate of 85% and an employability of 86.3%. In addition, 92% are employed in jobs that match their level of education, and as many as 86% are in technical or managerial positions.

The fourth Study of Labour Market Insertion of graduates in Official Master’s Degrees of the UV has been carried out by the employment service of the UV, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment, and the General Foundation of the Universitat de València.

The report now published provides data on the main job placement indicators for each of the 102 official Master's degrees analysed and can be found on the UVjob website, with more detailed and extended information on the job placement indicators for each of the postgraduate courses. It is also available on the Universitat de València's degree programmes' websites, in the insertion tab of each of the Master's degrees.

In the words of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment, Ángeles Solanes, "the results of the fourth Study on the Labour Market Insertion of graduates in Official Master’s Degrees at the UV reflect a notable increase in employability, with an increase of more than 4 percentage points compared to the previous study..
