One of the most esteemed works from the universal chorus repertory is the 'Requiem, K. 626' of Mozart that last 24 May was interpreted the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Universitat de València, along with the Cor Jove del Orfeó Català, in the Palau de la Música Catalana of Barcelona in a concert conducted by the titled of the Orquestra, Hilari Garcia Gázquez.
The Requiem of Mozart, the last work composed -and had to finish Süssmayr, his student and closest disciple- was played in la Casa dels Cants, the musical home of the young Catalan chorus, after having made stand up the Palau de la Música de València last weekend in a solidary concert dedicated to the victims of the DANA 29 October, collecting that has been destined to the Help and Recovery PosDANA Programmes of the UV.
This work by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has had an existence surrounded by mystery and controverse. Further from a legend motivated by mystery in the surroundings of its order and the death of the author in the middle of its composition, the Requiem, K. 626 takes a place in history for self-credit: the high-level and the energy traces that contain give the idea of the God close and good, not at all distant nor alarmist, without the necessity of great liturgies.
A work that fits to perfection with the context in which both young trainings get together to interpret it: the seclusion and the peace that is reclaimed by the most hurt spirits, as well as the opportunity to embrace all the musical universe from the “most absolute dramatics to the celestial glory”, as pointed out by Garcia Gázquez i n València, enjoying note by note all the dramatic-xpensivr effort that brings us the German conductor.
Orchestra and chorus counted with the interpretation of vocal soloists Irene Mas (soprano), Tànit Bono (contralto), Matthew Thomson (tenor) and Guillem Batllori (bass).
