The event will take place on 24 October 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Germà Colón Hall of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the UJI.
On 24 October, the Language and University Conference at the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló will discuss the different language policies of the universities, ranging from the linguistic rights of teachers and students to the factors that limit the use of Valencian in teaching at Valencian universities. All this within the framework of the University Chart of the Language of the Vives Net approved by its Council to promote the institutional use in management, teaching, research, publication and communication between the universities of the Vives Net, which has as its ultimate aim the strengthening of the language in the academic sphere.
This will be done through three conferences and dialogues in which teaching and research staff from the Universitat Jaume I and the co-directors of the Chair of Linguistic Rights of the Universitat de València will participate.
Afterwards, a debate on the linguistic situation in Valencian universities will be open at the end of the conference. This conference is organised by the Universitat Jaume I and the Chair for Linguistic Rights of the Universitat de València.
