València, November 2025 — The Youth and Society Studies Network (REJS) held its working meeting on 13 and 14 November at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Valencia, consolidating its role as a benchmark space for the production of knowledge oriented towards public action in the field of youth.

The meeting concluded on 14 November with the adoption of strategic agreements aimed at strengthening inter-university cooperation, the articulation of shared agendas and the projection of the network towards competitive calls and knowledge transfer mechanisms, both at the national level and at the European and Ibero-American levels.

Among the main conclusions was the preliminary design of a joint application to the Networks of Excellence call, aimed at strengthening the REJS’s capacity to generate relevant scientific evidence for the design, evaluation and improvement of public youth policies. Within this framework, priority research lines with high social and political impact were identified, such as youth transitions and emancipation, intergenerational relations, risk behaviours and socialisation, youth political participation, the digitalisation of everyday life, and processes of inequality and vulnerability.

Likewise, the launch of a stable calendar of inter-university scientific seminars was agreed upon, conceived as a key instrument for knowledge accumulation, advanced training and transfer to public administrations, third-sector organisations and international bodies. This initiative is complemented by the creation of a coordinated information distribution network, aimed at optimising the circulation of research results, collaboration opportunities and activities with potential institutional impact.

These agreements strengthen the positioning of the REJS as a strategic academic infrastructure, capable of articulating research excellence, inter-institutional cooperation and a public policy orientation, in a context marked by the central role of youth in contemporary social, economic and democratic challenges.
