Biography
 

ALICIA ARMENGOT VILAPLANA is Professor of Procedural Law at the University of Valencia. She has a Doctor of Law from this University since 2001, with an extraordinary award.

It has been recognized for 5 five-year teaching periods and 3 six-year research periods. 

He has participated in Teaching Innovation Projects since 2009 and has coordinated the stable teaching innovation group “Moot Court of the University of Valencia” since 2014.

She is the author of three monographs: The civil judicial protection of intellectual property (2002); The accused in the criminal process (2013); Towards the reconstruction of collective action (2020). He has written multiple legal articles and has participated in collective works: The criminal process in the doctrine of the Constitutional Court (1981-2004), Aranzadi, 2005. The Extraordinary Appeal for Procedural Infraction, La Ley, 2013. The Civil Cassation Appeal, La Ley, 2014. Comments on the Intellectual Property Law, Tirant Lo Blanch, 2017. Access to justice and guarantee of rights in times of crisis, Tirant Lo Blanch, 2018.

She has been a researcher in numerous Research and Development (R&D) Projects, both national and regional, and related to both civil and criminal proceedings. He is currently the IP of a Ministry Project related to the Instruments of Civil Justice against the phenomenon of mass litigation.

The lines of research that he has developed have focused on the study of instruments of civil judicial protection of intellectual property rights; in precautionary protection; in the study of the status of the accused in criminal proceedings; the organization of the appeal system before the high courts; and the procedural challenges in situations of massive litigation.

During his research career he has carried out research staysat prestigious universities such as the Université Lyon-3 Jean Moulin (Lyon, France), the Università degli Studi di Bologna (Bologna, Italy), the Institüt für Deutsches und Ausländisches Zivilprozessrecht (Freiburg im. Br., Germany) and the “Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne” in Paris.

He has participated as a teacher in international training programs such as the Master's Degree in “Criminal Law and Criminal Procedural Law” at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés in La Paz (Bolivia) and in the Doctorate in Criminal Law and Constitutional Law taught at the Postgraduate and International Relations Unit of the same University.

She has held the position of Vice-Dean of Academic Organization of the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia from March 2009 to March 2012. She has been coordinator of the double degree program in Business Administration and Law. She is currently the Director of the Master's Degree in Law and Procurement.

Biography
 

Javier Guardiola García holds a PhD in Law and a degree in Criminology; he is Tenured Lecturer at the Department of Criminal Law of the University of Valencia, teaching in different subjects of criminal law and criminology, and a researcher at the University Research Institute in Criminology and Criminal Sciences.

Graduated in Law from this same University (1992-1997, Extraordinary Award), he also combined doctoral studies there with Graduate in Criminology (1997-2000), and, after defending his doctoral thesis in 2002 -The arbitrary realization of one's own right, published as a monograph in 2003-, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Criminology (2005-2006, Extraordinary Award and National End of Career Award).

He is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law (before which he was Coordinator of the Double Degree Program in Law and Criminology, and Co-director of the Master's Degree in Criminology and Security); member of the Board of the Spanish Society of Criminological Research and of the Deontological and Guarantees Commission of the Official College of Criminologists of the Valencian Community; he has been Secretary of ReCrim and Substitute Magistrate at the Provincial Court of Valencia; he has carried out research stays in various foreign centers and is a researcher in different R&D&I projects financed with public and private funds.

Caty Vidales Rodríguez. Law degree from the University of Valencia (1990) and PhD in Law from Jaume I University (1996). Professor of Criminal Law since 2019, with uninterrupted teaching activity since the 1993/94 academic year. She has taught most of the subjects within the area of ​​Criminal Law, and also has extensive experience in Doctoral courses (Criminal Law and the Constitution, Constitutional Rights and Duties, Business and the Criminal Justice System, and the Criminal Justice System) and Master's programs (Master's Degree in the Criminal Justice System, Master's Degree in Psychosocial Rehabilitation in Community Mental Health, Master's Degree in Traffic and Road Safety and Interventions, Master's Degree in Practical Taxation, Master's Degree in Criminal Guarantees and Socioeconomic Crimes, and Master's Degree in the Prevention and Repression of Money Laundering).

Regarding research, it is worth noting the authorship of several monographs, book chapters, and articles published in scientific journals, which have focused primarily, though not exclusively, on four lines of inquiry that have remained consistent over time. The first is dedicated to socioeconomic crime and the legal and penal treatment that should be given to illicitly obtained assets. The second centers on the principle of legality and the requirements that derive from its establishment. The third develops aspects related to organized crime. And, finally, the fourth revolves around topics related to Criminology and Security. Most of these works are the result of the more than twenty Research Projects in which she has participated, some as principal investigator, and of the numerous research stays she has undertaken at foreign research centers, which, in turn, explains the international scope of her publications (United States, Italy, Poland, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Costa Rica). Regarding knowledge transfer, she has been collaborating since 1993 with the Center for the Administration of Justice (CAJ) at Florida International University (Miami, USA), where she is a member of the International Advisory Committee. She also serves on the Scientific Committee of several periodicals and participated in drafting the preliminary draft of the Guatemalan Penal Code.

Finally, she has held several individual positions (Director of the Postgraduate Degree in Security and Police Sciences, Vice Dean, Director of the Department of Public Law) and has been a regular member of various committees (Faculty Board, representative of the Department of Public Law on the Research and Doctoral Committee, Member of the University Senate, and Member of the Governing Council).
