BELLIDO PENADES, RAFAEL |
Biography | |||
|
Rafael Bellido Penadés. His curriculum vitae includes extensive experience in the fields of research and teaching, as well as a solid academic background, as evidenced by the extraordinary prize he received for his law degree (1989) and his doctoral degree (1999). He has been a professor of procedural law at the University of Valencia since 1992, becoming a tenured professor in 2000 and a full professor of procedural law in 2018. He is the author of more than 100 publications, including books, book chapters, and scientific and educational journals. He is the author of seven monographs on topics related to civil and criminal procedure. In this second area, which is more closely related to the Master's Degree in Criminal Guarantees, are “Right of defense and accusatory principle in misdemeanor trials” (2011, Dykinson, 334 pages) and “The recording of direct oral communications and images and their use in criminal proceedings (proposals for reform)” (Tirant lo Blanch, 2020). His articles have been published in national and international scientific journals, including Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht Internationaler Teil, www.judicium.it, and Revista del Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Procesal. Among his teaching publications, it is worth highlighting three textbooks that he authored alone: “Esquemas de Proceso Penal” (2011), “Materiales prácticos de proceso penal” (2011), and “Cuestiones prácticas de proceso penal” (Tirant Lo Blanch, 2014, 100 pages). In addition, he has participated in 20 editions of the manual “Civil Procedural Law,” Aranzadi (2000 to 2022) and in 9 editions of the manual “Introduction to Procedural Law,” Aranzadi (2010 to 2022). He has also participated continuously in eight research projects, all of them funded by competitive public calls for proposals, two at the regional level and the remaining six at the national level. In all of them, he has contributed with publications in journals and books, having been the principal investigator in one of the national projects. Likewise, I have had the opportunity to transfer the results of my research in various ways, such as serving as a substitute magistrate in the Provincial Court of Valencia, conducting pre-legislative studies—such as the one commissioned by the Regional Ministry of Public Administration of the Valencian Government for the creation of Community Courts and Trademarks— issuing opinions, such as the one requested by the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities, and serving as a lawyer for the Constitutional Court. He has also spent fourteen months conducting research at universities in Freiburg (Germany), Milan and Rome (Italy), and Paris (France), all of which were funded by university, regional, and state scholarships and grants. His teaching activity has focused on the various core subjects of the Bachelor's Degree in Law (Introduction to Procedural Law, Civil Procedural Law, and Criminal Procedural Law), although, following the introduction of new curricula, he has also taught on the double Bachelor's Degrees in Business Administration and Law, and Law and Criminology. Likewise, with regard to these subjects, I have taught both theoretical and practical modules, as well as theoretical-practical modules. I have also taught postgraduate courses in various master's programs at the University of Valencia from 2000 to the present (Master's Degree in Human Rights, Democracy, and International Justice; Master's Degree in Business Law; Master's Degree in Criminology and Security; Master's Degree in Mediation, Arbitration, and Conflict Management in Private Law, and Master's Degree in Criminal Guarantees and Socioeconomic Crimes). I have also participated in postgraduate programs at other universities, such as the Autonomous University “Gabriel Rene Moreno” (Bolivia) and the International University of Andalusia. In addition to traditional teaching, I have participated in six Educational Innovation Projects obtained through competitive calls for proposals and continuously from 2009 to the present: Innovation Project in Transition Tutoring, Innovation Project within the framework of the European Higher Education Area for the double degree in Business Administration and Law at the University of Valencia (3rd year), Innovation Project within the framework of the European Higher Education Area for the double degree in Business Administration and Law at the University of Valencia (5th year), Educational Innovation Project in Legal Clinic (2011/2012), Educational Innovation Project in Legal Clinic for Social Justice (2012/2013) and Educational Innovation Project in Legal Clinic for Social Justice II (2013/2014). As a result of the above research, transfer, and teaching activities, he has obtained five six-year research periods, one six-year transfer period, and six five-year teaching periods.
