The LECTIN Network is promoted by the Laboratory of Diversity, Cognition and Language of the University of Sevilla, with the collaboration of the ATYPICAL group of the ERI‑Reading (Universitat de València), the University of Salamanca and the University of Padua. It seeks to generate synergy between research and innovation in reading for populations with atypical profiles (people with intellectual disability, autistic people or people with hearing loss).

Objectives

  1. To develop coordinated research strategies which will allow quality standards to be established and the main objectives of the research of reading in people with atypical development to be defined, giving special attention to deaf people, people with intellectual disability and autistic people.
  2. To start the creation of a database of entities and users that enables to maximise the ability of the partners to recruit new participants.
  3. To promote the recollection of collective anonymised data in an online repository.
  4. To raise awareness on these individual’s reading needs as well as to disseminate and promote the adaptation of materials and resources to an easy-read format.
  5. To foster the knowledge of quality standards in reading intervention and in easy reading.
