The lecturers María Dolores García-Pastor and Juan Carlos Tordera Yllescas, both members of the GIEL, recently participated in the invited symposia, organised by the lecturer on learning-teaching of languages and special educational needs in the IV International Conference on Psychological, Educational and Health Contexts (CICE 2020), held on 25, 26 and 27 November.
Their presentations were about emotions and processing of non-explicit content in students with dyphemia or autism. Other participants in the symposia included the lecturer María Carmen Campoy Cubillo (UJI), whose presentation was focused on students with visual impairment; the lecturer Vicenç Torrens (UNED) with a presentation on students with SLI (specific language impairment); and the lecturer Jorge Piqueres Calatayud (IES Alcalans) with a case study on identity and dyphemia. The symposia underlined the importance of paying special attention to the socio-affective dimension of students with special needs in language learning.
