With the aim to promote the exchange between researchers of different universities, the GIEL group invited the Dr. Luisa Alvares Pereira (Universidade de Aveiro-Portugal) to participate in a work session in the Faculty of Teacher Training.

The lecturer, specialist with an extended career in didactics of writing, explained the last researches carried out in the International InterWriting project that gathers researchers from Brazil, Portugal and France.

Despite the fact that the mentioned project tries to understand the process of writing at class, the intervention of Dr. Alvares -titled Multimodal Registration Methods in School Writing Process Research- was focused on, on one hand, showing different ways of gathering data on writing at class from several points of view (video recordings, transcription and subtitling interactions, analysis of texts and children interactions, etc.). On the other hand, the lecturer Alvares showed computer programmes that make easier the research task. All these instruments allow knowing better some writing aspects, such as genesis processes and text revisions on children writing their first texts at class.

Once the intervention of the Dr. Alvares concluded, the attendants and the lecturer from Portugal reflected on writing, comparing some of the results from the Portuguese-French-Brazilian research and the ones carried out by different members of the GIEL group.
