The “Research Conference on Oral Language Teaching: Methodological renewal and innovation”, organised by the GIEL Group (Research group on Language Teaching), of the University of Valencia aims to reflect on the didactics of oral language teaching in the academic environment in order to review what has been achieved so far and what new challenges are posed, as well as to compare the process of teaching and learning formal oral language more effectively.

The participants of the Conferences are university professors and researchers with academic trajectory and consolidated research who represent the most outstanding figures in the current research panorama on the subject, not only in the Valencian sphere but also in other territories.
The Conferences comprises activities of varying duration (lectures, round table with short presentations and a final dialogue) to be held over two days. The conferences have been recognised as specific activities within the Doctoral Programme in Specific Didactics. At the end of every activity, a dialogue between the attendees (teachers, professors of the Faculty of Teacher Training among others, doctoral students, Pre-School and Primary School pupils, students of the Master’s degree in Research in Specific Didactics, as well as the Master’s degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training, etc.) will begin.
