The journal, with 38 years of history, is a referent between state’s union publications and in the international scene.
The director of the publication, Alícia Martí, explained that with this monography “the bet is on for these pages to become an important space for reflection, discussion and open and enriched proposals with external collaboration, in a new editorial phase that started in 2016 with a dossier on teaching in Valencian”.
The journal deals with Valencian educational heritage of the 20th century, it covers the profiles of iconic figures in the Valencian education such as Carles Salvador, Enric Soler i Godes, Gonzalo Anaya or the trade unionist Melchor Botella. It has around forty collaborations, among them, of Carmen Agulló, education historian, Jaume Martínez Bonafé, retired lecturer of the Universitat de València, Vicent Pitarch, member of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans, Carme Miquel and Ferran Zurriaga, who belong to the old Pedagogy section of Lo Rat Penat, and Vicent Moreno, president of Escuela Valenciana.
The aim of this monography is to rediscover the identity of an education we keep fighting for, of a school we keep building. We are talking about pedagogical renewal, teaching in Valencian, land ethic, democracy, about the need of moving forward with the construction of a new public school model in a more equitable society.
