In February, Mariona Casas, lecturer and researcher of the Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC) made a research stay at the Research Group in the Teaching of Languages (GIEL) of the Universitat de València (UV).
Mariona Casas is member of the Department of Philology and Teaching of Language and Literature and of the Research Group in Education, Language and Literature (GRELL) of the Faculty of Education, Translation and Human Sciences of the university.
During her stay, the visiting professor took part in the research activity developed by GIEL, especially in research tasks linked to two projects of which GIEL and GRELL are part. Those are leaded by the Research Group in the Teaching and Learning of Languages (GRIAL, UAB): on the one hand, the project ¡Ahora la escritura! Mejorar la expresión escrita para garantizar la equidad del alumnado (Now writing! Improving writing skills so as to ensure students’ equity) (2015ACUP-00175) and, on the other hand, Enseñar a escribir: reflexión gramatical y estrategias de autoregulación (Teaching to write: grammar reflection and self-regulation strategies) (EDU2015-64798-R).
The teacher also gave two class sessions on the assessment of oral skills in the framework of the subject Desarrollo de las habilidades comunicativas en contextos multilingües, of the degree of Primary Education of the Faculty of Teacher Training of the UV.
For many years now, GIEL and GRELL share research projects related to the teaching-learning of languages and, specially, of grammar teaching. Alícia Santolària, GIEL researcher made a research stay at the UVic in the first semester of the academic year 2018-2019.
