Type: Equipment
High-throughput sequencing equipment that allows obtaining sequences with an average length of more than 30 kb.
The Sequel single molecule sequencing equipment is based on SMRT (Single Molecule Real Time) Sequencing technology. Sequencing is performed on DNA or RNA (cDNA) directly, without the need for a prior PCR amplification step. Each sequencing cell contains up to 1 million wells (Zero-Mode Waveguides).
Sequences longer than 30 kb can be easily obtained with the kit, facilitating the assembly of GC-rich or highly repetitive regions. The characteristics of the sequencing method allow direct identification of modified nucleotides, such as 5-mC. The possibility to perform circular sequencing of the same template increases the accuracy of the sequences obtained, with an accuracy of 99.999 % (QV50).
De novo sequencing of genomes, transcriptomes and epigenomes, RNA isoform analysis, metagenomics analysis, amplicon sequencing, etc.
