TeLL-ME launches AI-LANG, an emerging project funded by the GVA exploring how AI can contribute to improving university students’ communicative competence in English and French.
The TeLL-ME Research Group is returning from the summer break with some great news: the group has been awarded the emerging project AI-LANG: Artificial Intelligence for Improving Communicative Competence in Language Teaching in University Contexts (CIGE/2026/38), funded by the Generalitat Valenciana.
The project will explore how university students’ autonomous use of artificial intelligence tools can contribute to the development of oral and written communicative competence in English and French, with particular attention to linguistic accuracy, discourse organisation and communicative appropriateness.
The findings will support the development of pedagogical resources, model tasks and guidelines for the ethical and pedagogically informed integration of AI into language teaching.
TeLL-ME is delighted to begin this new project and looks forward to contributing further to research on educational innovation and language learning.
