An online 3-ECTS course for language teachers begins, focusing on AI use: materials creation, prompt design, tool evaluation, and ethical approaches.
Today, 24 March 2026, marks the start of the University Micro-credential in AI and Digital Technologies for Language Teaching and Learning, led by Dr Cinta Gallent Torres and featuring Dr Iris Serrat Roozen and Dr Ana-Isabel Martínez-Hernández, the three members of the TeLL-ME research group.
The course, which will be delivered online via the UV-ADEIT Virtual Classroom, begins this afternoon with the opening session (17:00–19:00) and will run until 30 April. It carries a workload of 3 ECTS credits.
The main objective of the micro-credential is to train language teaching professionals and specialists in applied linguistics to integrate artificial intelligence and digital technologies into their teaching practices from a critical, pedagogical and ethical perspective. Throughout the course, participants will work on designing AI-based materials and activities, developing advanced guidelines, and evaluating digital tools applied to language learning.
Furthermore, the programme places particular emphasis on identifying the biases and risks associated with the use of AI in educational contexts, promoting a responsible and informed adoption of these technologies. It will also encourage the exchange of experiences and collaboration between professionals from different fields.
