Zoom is a videoconferencing platform that enables real-time virtual meetings via video and audio from any electronic device that support the application: computers, laptops, phones and tablets. Zoom integrates cloud-based video conferencing, online meetings and group messaging into one easy-to-use interface.

  • Thanks to its cloud-based technology, Zoom allows meeting to be recorded and stored. In addition, it also allows you to record meeting in MP4 video format, without exceeding 1GB (for the free version).
  • It streams high-fidelity video to more than 700 participants, also allowing meetings of up to 300 participants with 500 seminar attendees.
  • The application allows you to share screen, whiteboard, other applications and content directly from the cloud. Slides can also be shared as virtual background, audio and video files stored on the local computer, files from a third-party sharing service such as Google Drive or Microsoft One Drive.
  • Allows the option of scheduling a webinar with registration, which requires participants to fill in a form before receiving the link that will allow them to attend the webinar. This feature is useful to ensure some security at seminars, as well as being helpful in collecting registrants’ data.
  • There are different roles (host, co-host, panellist or attendee) with different levels of permissions that allow editing functions such as webinar participation, participant management, webinar live streaming and webinar recording.
  • Being integrated with other applications and servers, it is possible to schedule events from other calendars (Google), manage and track projects (Asana), save files (Dropbox), among other integrations.
  • The platform allows to schedule meetings, start meetings, join meeting and even, through the “screen sharing” option, the participants of the meeting or seminar will be able to watch the screen of the device from which the transmission is taking place.
  • Another feature that this platform offers is that it can generate reports on attendees (how they joined the seminar, when they joined, when they left, how long they stayed at the session), as well as performance reports showing participation statistics, attendance and feedback.
  • Questions and answers can be posted on webinars in a way that allows participants to ask questions and hosts to answer them. Even so, anonymous surveys are allowed.

Zoom is compatible with operating systems such as MacOs, Windows, Android, iOS, among others.
