Erasmus Welcome 2025-26

On Monday, September 8th, the University of Valencia will officially welcome more than 2,100 Erasmus students arriving for the 2025-26 academic year.

The welcome sessions, organized by UVinternational, will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in three time slots (9:00, 11:00 and 13:00), marking the beginning of these students’ university experience in Valencia.

During the event, international students will learn about the University’s services, facilities, and activities, and will also receive their Certificate of Arrival.

An Erasmus leader and an open university

This year, the University of Valencia will host 2,117 Erasmus students, reaffirming its leadership in welcoming students through this prestigious European program. Italy, Germany, and France are, in that order, the main countries of origin, although the cultural diversity will be much broader. They will be joined by 81 students from outside Europe (from South America, the United States, Canada, China, Korea, or Japan) and 298 SICUE students from Spanish universities.

Also noteworthy are the 130 students from the European alliance FORTHEM, who will take part in specific activities aimed at promoting their cultural and social integration.

The arrival of these students enriches the international experience of incoming participants and also transforms local students, who share a campus that is increasingly international, where cultural and academic exchange is constant and highly rewarding.

Services and campus life

The welcome sessions will feature the participation of several university services such as UVesports, the Language Centre, and the Language Policy Service, which will set up information stands to showcase their programs.

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) will also take part in the event, presenting its program of social, cultural, and volunteer activities, designed to help incoming students feel part of the university community from the very first day. In addition, each faculty of the University of Valencia will organize specific orientation sessions, tailored to the needs of their degree programs.

A transformative experience

The arrival of more than 2,100 Erasmus students and other international students strengthens the UV’s commitment to cultural diversity, academic cooperation, and global outreach. The institution sees these stays as a unique opportunity to foster ties between cultures and to enhance the comprehensive education of its student body.

The presence of this international community makes the University of Valencia a global meeting point, where local and international students live together and learn from one another.

The University of Valencia opens its doors to a new academic year in which internationalization once again takes center stage.
