Ukrainian Week at the Universitat de València

The Universitat de València will hold on 5 May 2026 an educational and cultural event within the frame of the Ukrainian Week, featuring a renowned Ukrainian delegation in the educational, cultural, and institutional field. The event will be hold at Espai Lluís Vives, and it will be open for all th euniversity community.

The event will feature representatives from the Universitat de València, the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, the Consulate of Ukraine in Valencia, and the Conselleria de Educación, Cultura, Universidades y Empleo of the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Government), aimed at thinking about the role of culture, identity, and academic cooperation in the current European context.

The event will start with an institutional session and continue with presentations focused on international cooperation and academic collaboration between European and Ukrainian universities.

Conference and round table

One of the key points of the programme will be the following open conference: La cultura nacional como componente de la seguridad: el caso de Ucrania, which will analyse culture as a key element for resilience, identity preservation, and construction of a national memory specially, regarding war contexts.

After that, a round table on contemporary Ukrainian culture and its international projection will be hold, featuring renowned figures of the intellectual and cultural Ukrainian field. The discussion will tackle culture as a tool of resistance, cultural diplomacy, and construction of narratives within European and global space. 

The event will include a coffee break as an informal space for participants to meet and dialogue, and it will conclude with an institutional lunch.
