On Monday, 7 September, the Universitat de València will holdits welcome sessions for international mobility students joining the institution for the 2026-2027 academic year.
A total of 2,217 Erasmus students have chosen the UV for their studyabroad experience. This figure reaffirms the Universitat de València’s position as one of Europe’s leading universities in the Erasmus programme.
The welcome sessions are organised by UVinternacional in collaboration with several University services. They will take place in the Aula Magna of the Facultat de Medicina i Odontologia in four sessions, at 8:15 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The event represents international mobility students’ first institutional contact with the Universitat de València and will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about the services, facilities, resources and activities available to them throughout their stay.
A leading Erasmus university open to the world
During the 2026-2027 academic year, the Universitat de València is welcoming 2,217 Erasmus students, further consolidating its leading position in hosting students through Europe’s flagship university mobility programme.
Italy, Germany and France are, in that order, the main countries of origin. However, the students arriving at the UV represent a much broader geographical and cultural diversity.
In addition to Erasmus participants, the Universitat de València is welcoming 101 students from universities outside Europe, including institutions in South America, the United States, Canada, China, Korea and Japan, as well as 251 SICUE students from other Spanish universities.
Also noteworthy is the presence of more than 100 students linked to the European university alliance FORTHEM, who will take part in specific activities designed to promote their cultural and social integration.
Overall, the arrival of these students further strengthens the international character of the Universitat de València’s campuses. Interaction between local students and students from other universities creates an environment in which academic, linguistic and cultural exchange is an integral part of everyday university life.
Services to support integration and university life
The welcome sessions will include the participation of several university services, including UVesports, the Centre d’Idiomes and the Servei de Llengües i Política Lingüística, which will have information stands where students can learn more about the resources and activities they offer.
Erasmus Student Network (ESN) will also participate in the event, presenting its programme of social, cultural and volunteering activities. These initiatives help international incoming students integrate and become part of the university community from the very firstdays of their stay in València.
In parallel, the different faculties and centres of the Universitat de València will organise specific orientation sessions tailored to the academic characteristics of each degree programme, ensuring that students have all the information they need to begin the academic year.
An international and transformative experience
Mobility stays representan opportunity not only for those arriving in València, but also for the university community as a whole. The presence of students from numerous countries transforms the campuses into spaces for international exchange and enables local students to engage with other languages, cultures and approaches to higher education.
This international dimension is also reflected in the mobility of Universitat de València students. In 2026, the UV ranked as these cond university in Spain in terms of the number of Erasmus mobilities to other European countries. A total of 2,224 students enrolledat the Universitat de València will undertake a mobility stay at other European universities during the 2026-2027 academic year.
In addition, 101 students will undertake mobility stays at universities outside Europe, while 251 students will participate in the SICUE programme at other Spanish universities.
With these figures for both incoming and outgoing mobility, the Universitat de València begins a new academic year in which internationalisation once again plays a central role in university life and in the education and development of its students.
