Ph.D. in Economic and Business Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Valencia. Head of the Chair of Autonomous Taxation. He is a member of the Public Economic Evaluation research group (EvalPub) and of the Commission for the Study of Tax Reform in the Valencian Community and a researcher of the Network of Researchers in Autonomous Financing and Financial Decentralization in Spain ( RIFDE). His area of research focuses on Public Economics, highlighting the following lines: economics of taxation, public regulation, fiscal federalism, poverty and inequality, and public economic evaluation. He has published numerous articles in scientific journals on taxation and the environment, including Spanish Review of Public Economics, Información Comercial Española, Service Industries Journal, Review of Economics of the Household, Estudios de Economía Aplicada, International Journal of Innovation and regional Development. . Rafael Granell, PhD in Economics and Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Valencia. He is the Director of the Public Economic Evaluation research group (EvalPub) and co-director of the Masters Degree on Political Economy and Public Economics. He is a member of the Chair of Regional Taxation and of the Commission for the Study of Tax Reform in the Valencian Region and a researcher at RIFDE. Mauro Mediavilla is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia. He is also a research associate at the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB), the European Foundation for Society and Education, and the Public Economic Evaluation Research Group (EVALPUB). He holds a PhD in Economics (2011) and was awarded the José Luis Moreno Becerra Prize for the best doctoral thesis in the field of Economics of Education (2013). He currently serves as the vice-president of the Association for the Economics of Education (AEDE). His main research interests focus on the determinants of academic achievement and the evaluation of public policies in education. In 2025, he has served as a consultant for UNESCO (PEER - Spain). He has also acted as a consultant for the UNESCO Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, and as an advisor to the Prometheus Program of the Government of Ecuador (2014–2015), as well as to the Spending Review project (European Commission) for Spain, conducted by the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) (2018–2019). Additionally, he was a member of the expert committee for the scholarship system review in Spain, advising the Save the Children Foundation. He has undertaken research stays at several prestigious universities and research centres in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Hong Kong, Ecuador, Latvia, Serbia, and Romania. Since 2005, he has participated continuously in numerous competitive research projects at both the national and regional levels. He has authored over 70 publications, including articles in indexed journals, books, and book chapters. |

Nerea Gómez is an Assistant Professor in the Applied Economics Department of the University of Valencia. She has a PhD in Statistics from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Cum Laude) with international mention (London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom). Her doctoral thesis was awarded the 1st Youth Chair prize for the best doctoral thesis on youth issues in Spain. Previously, she studied the Degree in Economics (UV and Universität Heidelberg) being awarded by the Ministry of Universities with the National End of Degree Award for University Education in the field of Social Sciences. She then completed the Master's Degree in Applied Economics (Universidad de Alicante) and the Master's Degree in Teacher Training (UNED). She is a member of the Public Economic Evaluation research group (EvalPub) and of the Cátedra of Autonomous Taxation. Her main areas of research are the Economics of Education and applied macroeconomics, highlighting the following lines: determinants of academic performance, use of ICT in the educational field and application of statistical techniques for the evaluation of the economic and social effects of policies. macroeconomics. She has published articles in different scientific journals (JCR), including Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, Journal of Economic Policy Reform, Economic Systems, Hacienda Pública Española and Revista de Educación. |
Diego Muñoz Higueras holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Valencia. His research focuses on evaluating public policies aimed at reducing poverty, particularly enhancing income support systems and reducing the non-take-up of social benefits. He has analysed both regional minimum income schemes and the national Minimum Vital Income in Spain, and examined access to in-work benefits and their impact on poverty in international contexts such as Ireland. He integrates microsimulation modelling, statistical data analysis and impact evaluation techniques into his methodological approach, with the objective of producing robust evidence to inform the design of more effective and equitable public policies. He draws on datasets including EU-SILC, Household Panel survey and specialised questionnaires. He collaborates with the research group Public Economic Evaluation (EvalPub) and the Chair of Regional Taxation, and has participated in projects funded by the Valencian Regional Government, the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and other public and private institutions He has carried out research stays in Belgium and Ireland and has published in national and international academic journals. He was awarded the 1st Avalua·lab Prize for the evaluation of public policy projects and initiatives, granted by the Laboratory for the Analysis and Evaluation of Public Policies of the City Council of Valencia. |

Galya Ivanova Dusheva holds a PhD with International Distinction from the University of Valencia. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s in Finance from the University of Economics in Varna (Bulgaria), as well as a Master’s in Advanced Auditing and Accounting from Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid). She has also been awarded the IBFD Advanced Professional Certificate in International Taxation. Previously, she served as an inspector at the National Revenue Agency of Bulgaria. She is currently an economist, tax advisor, and partner at Ivanova Tax and Law. In addition, she works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia, where she teaches International Taxation, Corporate Taxation, and Introduction to Taxation. She is a member of the Chair in Regional Taxation of the University of Valencia and of the Public Economic Evaluation Research Group (EvalPub). Her research focuses on International Taxation, with particular emphasis on tax residence, double taxation treaties, and permanent establishment. She has participated as a speaker in seminars and international conferences in several countries. |

Rubén Amo Cifuentes is currently working as a pre-doctoral researcher in training (FPU) in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia. He is also a PhD student in the Industrial Economics programme at the University of Valencia. He collaborates with the research group Public Economic Evaluation (EvalPub) and the Chair of Autonomous Taxation, both at the University of Valencia. Rubén holds a degree in Economics from the University of Valencia, having received the Extraordinary Degree Award 2020. He has also completed a Master in Economic Policy and Public Economics at the University of Valencia. His line of research is based on Public Economics and Fiscal Federalism, specifically on impact assessment and microsimulation of wealth taxes. |
