The Chair of the Economy for the Common Good organizes the “II Economy for the Common Good International Conference 2022 (ECGIC 2022) «Connecting Sustainability Organizational Models with SDGs»”, from March 9-11, 2022.
The Chair of the Economy for the Common Good in association with the Research Council of the Economy for the Common Good (Forschungsverein der Gemeinwohlökonomie e.V.) and ECG Science and Research Hub (GWÖ Akteur innenkreis Wissenschaft und Forschung) organizes the “II Economy for the Common Good International Conference 2022 (ECGIC 2022) «Connecting Sustainability Organizational Models with SDGs»”.
The Economy for the Common Good (ECG) movement started in 2010 with the publication of the book "Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie" (Economy for the Common Good) by Christian Felber. Nowadays, more than 2000 companies, especially in Europe and Latin America, are working under the ECG framework, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Moreover, more than 600 European firms have already produced their ECG Balance Sheet.
The ECG model is considered as a new approach in line with several socioeconomic and political approaches that aim to incorporate sustainability into the managerial context from a social and environmental point of view. Thus, linking their strategies to ECG values (human dignity, solidarity, social justice, environmental sustainability, democracy, and transparency).
Under those circumstances, the Conference aims at bringing together those scholars working on topics related to the ECG and other sustainability approaches, connecting them to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), thus giving response to the growing number of scholarly works focused on the ECG both from conceptual and empirical perspectives. To do so, the II Economy for the Common Good International Conference will consist of plenary sessions, parallel sessions organized in eleven tracks, doctoral workshops, and interactive practitioner sessions.
The Congress will be held on March 9, 10 and 11, 2022 in Valencia (Spain), at University of València’s facilities.
