Once your application has been made in the Student Portal of the University of València
1. Make the request on the Banco Santander website.
Before you leave:
1. Accept the scholarship: To accept your scholarship you need to follow these steps:
- Accept your scholarship on the Banco Santander website by clicking on the red button 'accept your scholarship' that you will see in the notification you will receive in your email. The term to accept it here will be 7 days from the moment you receive the notification.
- Accept your scholarship through the Online Office UV: you must search the Online Office UV for the procedure "International Program File" and follow the acceptance steps. The deadlines to accept the scholarship are as follows:
- Universities in the USA, Canada, Australia, Asia, and Russia: from February 10 to 24, 2023.
- Latin American universities: from February 10 to March 31, 2023
During the acceptance procedure, you shall indicate, among other things, a bank account number where you must be the owner.
If the deadline to present the request at the host university is prior to that established by UV, you shall accept the grant according to the deadline set by the host university.
Not accepting the grant before the deadline means withdrawal from the assigned place.
Once you accept the grant, you will obtain an official nomination letter, which can be downloaded in PDF via the Online Office UV. This appointment is available in English, Valencian, and Spanish.
2. Apply to the host university: Receiving an International Programme grant does not imply automatic acceptance by the host university. You must present, within the established deadlines and conditions, the application form and all requested documentation.
3. Admission letter from the host university: Once you have received the admission letter issued by the host university and before going to your destination, upload it to Online Office UV. Navigate to "my paperwork," select International Program File, and in "actions," choose "attach" to upload your acceptance letter.
4. Formalize your Learning Agreement with the Academic Coordinator of Mobility of your degree. You can find your department's hours on the department’s website. The initial study contract must be completed via the Student Services Portal for international credit enrollment. This contract must be closed by your academic coordinator before July 15. Failure to do so means you cannot self-enroll. The contract does NOT need to be uploaded to ENTREU or emailed to process the scholarship. The host university may require a signed contract.
5. Self-enroll in international credits: Before you leave, confirm your enrollment at the University of Valencia, as in any other academic year. Once the learning agreement is finalized by the academic coordinator, your Self-Enrolment will display international credits representing the subjects included in the Learning Agreement. You may also enroll in other courses at the UV, respecting credit maximums.
6. Get health insurance: As your destination is outside the EU, you’ll need international insurance. Some foreign universities may require you to take up their policies, especially in the USA; if so, follow your destination university’s instructions. The University of Valencia advises obtaining the following coverage:
- Medical and sanitary care for accidents and illnesses (required).
- Repatriation or transportation for harmed or sick persons (required).
- Repatriation or transportation in case of death (required).
- Family transportation in case of illness or death (recommended).
- Legal liability (required).
- Ensure your insurance policy includes coverage for COVID-19
Some companies offering these services in the university community:
- OnCampus. The University of Valencia is among the universities associated with OnCampus insurance. Coverage details can be found here. Insurance can be contracted here.
