In this seminar, Irene Moreno will present her studies on plant cover and aims to open a debate on its use in agriculture. 

Plant cover, together with no-till farming, is part of increasingly widespread sustainable agricultural practices. However, in some areas of the Mediterranean, it seems unattainable due to water scarcity.

This talk will present results on the effect of plant cover, together with no-till farming, on edaphic fauna (meso- and macrofauna) and soil properties. Irene Moreno is currently a PhD student at IVIA, but she recently completed her Master's Thesis at CIDE, co-supervised by Daniel Sacristán (Department of Environmental Quality and Soils) and Ignacio Buesa (Water and Crops Group).
