Camilla Gustafsson, PhD, is a marine ecologist who works at Tvärminne Zoological Station, University of Helsinki, Finland. Currently, she has a fellowship from the Research Council of Finland and leads the Macrophyte Biodiversity Group based at Tvärminne Zoological Station. She is also a PI in the Centre for Coastal Ecosystem and Climate Change Research (CoastClim).

Gustafsson and her research group study how macrophyte biodiversity (species and functional) is linked to ecosystem processes (e.g. community metabolism, carbon dynamics, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)- emissions) and properties (community resilience, stability) across spatial and temporal scales. The focal organisms range from seagrasses and other aquatic plants to seaweeds and reeds. In the seminar, Gustafsson will give a brief introduction to the CoastClim research centre and present some of the work conducted in her research group.

The seminar will be held in English.
