César Azorín, researcher at CIDE, will participate in the upcoming INNOTRANSFER conference
César Azorín Molina, senior scientist at CSIC at the Desertification Research Center (CIDE, CSIC-UV-GVA), will participate in the upcoming INNOTRANSFER conference: Innovation from the air. Drones and UAS in extreme scenarios, which will take place on Thursday, December 11, in the Marie Curie Auditorium of the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV).
During the conference, the CIDE researcher will participate in the presentations “Research and business: The role of UAS in territorial resilience,” as well as in the round table “Aerial technologies in action: challenges and possibilities in emergency response.”
Innnotransfer is a multisectoral open innovation initiative with a socioeconomic impact in the Valencian Community, promoted by the Valencian Science Parks Network, which has the support of the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade, and Tourism of the Valencian Government. The platform holds various events with the aim of strengthening interconnections in the scientific, technological, and business fields.
The next session will focus on the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and drones to prevent flooding, monitor flood risk, and respond in real time to extreme scenarios, as well as for water management and land use planning. The use of these systems could therefore be key to minimizing the risk and impact of extreme weather events, which are becoming increasingly intense due to climate change, such as the DANA of 2024.
Due to the growing need for these technologies and demand from the sector, it is necessary to analyze the opportunities they offer. To this end, the Fundació Parc Científic Universitat de València (FPCUV) has organized this conference, which will feature various presentations on the role of UAS in territorial resilience, given by experts from different public research institutions and companies.
Attendance at the conference, which will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:55 p.m., is completely free but requires prior registration using the form on the official website. In addition, the event can be followed live online via a link that will be activated shortly on the same website.
