Fruit Attraction, the Fair of the fruit and vegetable sector, took place from 30 September to 2 October, bringing together operators from across the fruit and vegetable supply chain in one place, with measures to promote innovation and drive the future of the sector.
The Water and Crops group of CIDE (CSIC-UV-GVA) had the opportunity to present the project “Transfer of Digital Solutions for Efficient Water Management in the Agro-Environmental Sector (TRAGUA)” and its catalogue of Technology Offer.
The aim of the project is to transfer knowledge on the efficient use of water in agro-ecosystems to i) the agricultural production sector, ii) technology companies and iii) water management entities, thereby contributing to the promotion and dissemination of R&D&i among companies in the Valencian Community.
The Technology Offer catalogue covers multiple areas of specialisation:
• Irrigation and remote sensing technologies
• Precision irrigation
• Soil and substrate management
• Use of non-conventional water for irrigation
• Sustainable management of nitrogen fertilisation
• Water and carbon footprint quantification
• Agronomic and agroecological practices
• Sustainable viticulture.
Alongside the researchers from the Water and Crops group at CIDE in TRAGUA, the following organisations collaborate as technology partners: AINIA Technology Centre, which works to boost the competitiveness of companies through innovation, and AgrotecUV, a business incubator at the University of Valencia located in its Science Park, which aims to encourage the creation of disruptive and innovative science and technology-based agri-food start-ups.
TRAGUA is funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) (IVACE+iInnovación) and by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Programme for the Valencian Community 2021-2027.
