CIDE collaborates in the X Trobada de Pedra Seca. L’art de la Pedra Seca, Patrimoni de la Humanitat, which will be held in El Pinós (Alicante) on October 18-20, 2019.

This meeting aims to highlight the material and immaterial heritage related to art of dry stone walling, inscribed in 2018 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The Valencian Community is the region with the largest number of hectares with agricultural dry-stone terraces throughout the country. Dating from the Bronze Age, it is one of the oldest historically recorded systems of land and water management and represents, therefore, an extraordinary cultural legacy.

For all those interested in disseminating their research and data on dry stone construction, posters and communications proposals must be sent no later than the deadline for submitting July 14th, 2019.
