REQUIREMENTS FOR BEING A DOCTORAL THESIS SUPERVISOR

Any doctorate with accredited research experience, regardless of the university, institution or centre to which he/she belongs, may be the supervisor of a doctoral thesis.

The research plan must include among the proposed directors, at least one doctorate lecturer with accredited research experience, belonging to the Department of Physiology of the Universitat de València. This lecturer will also act as tutor. Exceptionally, the committee may study special situations.

The doctorate thesis may be supervised by several doctorates, a maximum of 3 supervisors, when there are academic or interdisciplinary reasons. The specific participation of each of the supervisors in the research plan must be justified and detailed. Prior authorisation from the Programme's Academic Committee will be required.
 

REQUIREMENTS FOR RECOGNITION OF RESEARCH EXPERIENCE: 

(the same as for being an expert doctoral thesis evaluator):

A doctorate will be considered to have accredited research experience for the purposes of thesis supervision when he/she meets one of the following requirements:

 

Option 1.- To be a member of the Physiology Programme Research Team.

Option 2.- Permanent teaching staff at Spanish universities: Full professors, tenured professors, full-time lecturer (doctor):

  • Accredit at least 1 six-year research period recognised by the CNEAI in the last 10 years..

Option 3.- Remaining cases:

  • Hold a doctorate degree and
  • Accredit a minimum of 5 relevant contributions in the last 10 years, of which at least 3 must be indexed scientific publications, unless expressly authorised by the Academic Committee of the Programme.
